Oh, my aching sushi!!!

All right, so summer's over and there are fewer pretty girls in tank tops. But still, if you think about it, we're still better. We are utterly beautiful, talented, intelligent, and amazing girls who don't need to show off skin to feel worthy. Too bad we're too good for you.

first month of school is almost over. in some ways, it feels like school just started...but in others, it seems like i've never left for summer break and it's still junior year. course, there's all the college apps which are coming real soon so that just zaps me back to the fact that we only have one year left. gotta make that year last. so far, the academy has been awesome so far. we've had more fun times this month than the whole year combined last year! playing korean games, talking, blasting music at 10:30 pm, dancing with toilet paper!, butt dances, naps where you kick a person out of their own bed lol, swimming at 6 am, throwing keys ontop of buildings, blowing bubbles!!, glamour shots...socializing more and not staying in the room 24/7. woo hoo! but then, that also means not starting hmwk till midnight and not finishing till 4 in the morning because jane and i always find hilarious ways to distract ourselves for a couple hrs in between. lol. *sigh...this has got to be one of the most burned out months i've had in a while and it's only the beginning of a long year. it's been fun though so i guess that makes up for it. must give up one thing for another...i dunno even know if this post is making sense. it's not supposed to be a sad post although it's sounding more like it by the minute, but it's more like a prequel of what great things there are to come. i think it's just maybe fatigue that's dragging this down...should sleep be sacrificed? anywayz, you guys need to update! what's going on at ln?!?!

"Fireflies"

Holy crap. Senior year is going to rock.

Okay, so AP psych has me REALLY excited, AP stat is going to be a fun class since I know all but 6 people, Ap Lit & Comp needs some improvement or else it will end up being some lame ol' middle school English class, and I have study hall with none other than CHAPPY!!!!!!! OMG! I love her, despite not having the bond that all the graduates had.

Ugh. It feels weird being in a regular English class that does not concentrate more heavily on U.S. History or did not require an application and an interview. Honestly, it freaking bores me to death. I need a heck of a lot more stimulation, or else I'm gonna fall asleep. Oh, and guess what we get to do for the third time in my life? My Bag. Yeah. OMG.

For the poor, deprived Academy kids, we are now back on a 9-weeks schedule, and we have 5!!! lunches this year. Yeah. And orchestra always has the last lunch, so I'll be eating E tomorrow. Dude, red days are gonna be my slacker days. Dance, N*, orchestra, and econ. (laughs)

Sadly enough, I already know what my Homecoming and prom dresses SHOULD look like. I just have to make them. *gulp* But yeah, this year is not gonna blast right by like last year. We're on top, and we should make the best of it!

And since no one has acknowledged it on here:

Rest in Peace, Ben
Hopefully now you can feel how much you touched our lives while you were an earthly being.

I pray for his family.

Depuis longtemps

I don't think I've written here all summer. France was like living a dream for seven weeks and that's all I'm really going to say about it because the general overview seems inadequate and if I tried to tell you all my stories it would fill up multiple blogs. Ashley probably agrees with me.

In a way it's good that school is starting because since I've been back I've been so restless. The end of summer is always blah anyway but even moreso when it's after an experience like the stage (IU Honors). With school I will at least have something to keep me occupied and something else to keep my mind on.

And we are SENIORS! So, I will see (at least most of) you tomorrow or Wednesday. It's our last year; let's milk it for all it's worth!

Guess Who

hola guys! it's my first weekend staying at the academy for no good reason at all. thought i'd try it out and it's not so bad. i'm practically a jjunior in the sense that this is my first real academy weekend. there are so many asian gurls in the junior class. their outnumbering the seniors is so scary. but then it's not like we had a lot of asians in the first place. i think there are less than 10 in the junior class and of that, there are only 3 girls. anywayz, the goal for this year is to branch out. go out and break the asian mold although that is proving really hard right now. but it'll happen some day...lol. school only started 2 days ago and i've already got tons of reading. since everybody seems to be posting their classes, i'll give you a quick peek at mine. please skip the next line if you're not interested. ap calc bc, ap chem, chinese 2, civitas 3, multi-ethnic studies, orchestra, linguistics, colloq. second semester will most likely look like this: ap calc bc, ap chem, chinese 2, bio ethics, ap comp, ap stat, orchestra. i'm gonna be screwed when ap tests come around but i'm not gonna think about that right now. it's time to enjoy my senior year and have some fun. hope you guys are having an awesome time before school starts. go to the state fair and eat something absolutely delicious for me cuz i'm not gonna be able to go:( love y'allz!

NERD TEST! WOO!

Someone I know made up this checklist when she was bored; all the ones in bold apply to me. (This is really sad.)

You might be a nerd if…
---your best subject in school is math. (it used to be)
---you know from memory the last three digits of your GPA. (both w/ weight and w/o it)
---you LOVE sci-fi.
---you know at least the first 9 digits of pi.
---you can spell unusually well.
---you have won either won the Spelling Bee, Geography Bee, the science fair, or a math competition. (I've won a couple math competitions and, for the Scripps spelling bee, went to the sectionals twice, which is the one that determines whether you go to D.C. or not - I was 5 PLACES AWAY from going!!!!! :( )
---you know everything there is to know about computers.
---you wear glasses. (Well...not as much as I am supposed to...)
---you learn other languages in your spare time. (HECK YEAH! GO KOREAN AND JAPANESE!)
---getting a B-anything is horrible. (OMG YES!!!!)
---you are a social outcast. (I feel like it a lot, anyway, although I doubt it's because I'm a nerd..)
---you own a graphing calculator. ( I will for AP Stat.)
---you are in the top ten percent of your class. (This one's stupid. So many kids can cruise on by with slacker courses and be in the top ten percent. Seriously.)
---George W. Bush greatly annoys you. (Not quite. :P)
---you have messy handwriting and are not very organized.
---you read the book to every book made into a movie.
---you constantly hunt for scholarships.
---your hangout is at the library. (It used to be in middle school, anyway.)
---you can calculate how much change you get back when you go places. (Well, this is necessary to make sure they aren't trying to pull one on you.)
---you have an unhealthy obsession with video games.
---you know all fifty state capitals. (I've known them since I was five and my dad had this computer game where you type in the name of the capital for the given state and it says "Congratulations!" once you get them all. Yes, I was five. So what?)
---you know all of the Presidents in order. (INTERDISC!)
---your childhood hero is Bill Nye the Science Guy. (OMG! I would come home every day and watch it on PBS at 4:00 or 4:30 - don't remember exactly when... I loved Zoom, too. Really good PBS shows. :P)
---you were a member of the chess club or speech team in high school.
---you have ever attempted to read the dictionary.
---you constantly play games on your graphing calculator in the middle of class.
---you have no athletic ability whatsoever. (unless dance counts)
---you make up your own clubs with your friends.
---you have an unhealthy obsession with duct tape.
---you are obsessed with crossword puzzles. (OMG! I can finish one of those faster than ANYONE. I beat everyone else during my 8th grade birthday party, and my mom had to say, "Well, honey, you're the birthday girl. You can't win any prizes.")
---you took more than the required credits for math and science. (Heck, there are a lot of people who will never take physics. And to that, I say, "Good choice." It ruined my GPA first semester. And I STILL feel like a slacker for not taking Calc. *sigh*)
---you are considered weird by your peers. (I don't know about this one.)
---you thought Napoleon Dynamite was disgraceful.
---you use bumpers while you’re bowling. (Not yet, but that gives me ideas...)

Who wants to take a stab at this?

"is this LOVE?"

SCHEDULE TIME!

AP Psych ----------- Cuellar
AP Stat ------------- Frankum
AP Lit&Comp ------ Williams
Study Hall --------- Everitt
(Sadly enough, this means that Fleck couldn't alter my schedule to allow my study hall to be exchanged for a second N* period. Crap.)

Beg. Dance --------- Butz
N* ------------------- Stockdell
Chamber Orch. ---- Snyder
AP Econ ------------ Shetter

EDIT: Grar. Because I'm taking stat, Fleck couldn't get me changed to G2 N*. I FREAKING KNEW I WOULD BE BETTER OFF WITH CALC! WHY? WHY????? Now I'm stuck having to use my press pass every day to get out of study hall 4th period!!!
And kids, this is why you always take the most challenging course available. Slacking off leads to trouble in unexpected places.

WOO! Who had fun yesterday?

Anyway, I posted the "good" pictures on AM.com. A lot of them turned out blurry, since Jane and I danced a good half hour of picture-taking time, but I must say we are some crazy people! :P
