Oh, my aching sushi!!!

All right, so summer's over and there are fewer pretty girls in tank tops. But still, if you think about it, we're still better. We are utterly beautiful, talented, intelligent, and amazing girls who don't need to show off skin to feel worthy. Too bad we're too good for you.

Fluctuat nec mergitur.

I have returned....sorta. I'm almost back to my old self. Still working through problems though. I think that this depression really hit me hard because I've been putting it off for like....I don't know......a year now? So yeah. I'm feeling a bit better, and I will hopefully be my happy go lucky and slightly depressed self soon! (Instead of the I hate everyone don't come near me becuase I yell at you, Ashley.)
IB is going to kill me.
Today in CAS, our English teachers came in to give us all of our books for this semester and to talk about our IOP's. (Individual Oral Presentations) I am now the proud owner of 4 wonderful books. yay. And I need to come up with a project. I think that I am going to do Anitgone and teh role of women in ancient Greece. Not sure though. And next semester is the most fun! (not!) I have an IOC to do! joy. For all of you smart people not diong IB, an IOC is an Individual Oral Commentary.
Then I went to Psychology, where Erik and I fought with the computer trying to get our lab done. We got most of it done after like 20 minutes of battling. Mr. Cuellar is coming in to CAS Thursday to go over our assesments. Nothing much in Physics......got our tests back.......yeah. We're not going there.
And in English we did a Socratic Seminar. That was actually worth my time and *surprise!* *shock!* I even talked! :-D That's like a first for me!!!
I then went to see my conselor......I am now taking an online gym course. Don't ask. It's a long story. But yeah. Yay for online gym courses!
I also found out that I don't have ANY IB tests that I can take this year. This means that I am going to have to take 6 major exams my senior year.......plus AP Gov and Econ. :-( I really wanted to get them out of the way too!
AND I found out that there is a possibility for me to take Latin IV at LC senior year. So yeah. I might be over there for one period every day. (If they change the schedule back. I really hope that they don't though.)
ARGH! TOK porject due tomorrow. :-( First major project for 40 points, which is a lot in that class becuase we don't hand in much written work. i.e. we've handed one thing in all year. That was a paper we had to write. Otherwise, it's all just discussions.
Some links:

http://www.wsu.edu:8080/~wldciv/world_civ_reader/world_civ_reader_1/plato.html
That's the text that we were asked to read. So now, I open some questions up to you, the first one being, What is Plato's definition of knowledge? Secondly, how can we apply that in our own lives?
Here is the reason Clyde will never drive my car again with me inside it. He was driving to school from picking up Evan and I had to yell as he was not stopping quick enough....

"Passenger Seat"

First board meeting = a refreshed and happier Sarah.

I almost made a comment about how happy I was to have broken down in Interdisc and not in front of all the LTG's while reading my reports later that night. Alas, after the whole assignment situation, I did, anyway. I was up there, reading my LTG report in front of all 40 or so of us, and my voice continued to crack and I turned bright red.

However, all of it went uphill from there. I'm apparently one of the most active LTG's, and I'm all up-to-date and doing my jobs. YAY! And being here with wonderful people, those who I've met (in St. Louis and during D-CON in April) and some new people, and just getting out of the house and away from all that was familiar made it so much easier on me. My breathing's been worse, yes, but I think I'll be doing better emotionally when I get back. (Well, up until Mom starts criticizing me... Argh.)

I'll be back sometime on Sunday, but I won't be up for talking until Monday night. Stupid Physics and Interdisc...

I miss IMing y'all! I'll talk to you soon!

EDIT: I got back the results from Riley. I DO indeed have a kidney disease. They don't know what it is, exactly, but they know that there is something "brewing." (That doesn't sound good.) They ruled out cancer, though, thank goodness. So now, until the disease worsens or goes away, I have to continue with my tests every three months, possibly with more occasional invasive procedures. :( I don't want any more! I've had enough stress, thank you very much!

Argh

Don't realy expect me to post much..........I've been quite upset lately. But I do need to thank a bunch of people including Sarah, Jane, Michael, Clyde, Evie and Evan (of course!) who have all been trying to make me feel better! I love you all sooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!! :-D

"Carrickfergus"

In the journalism room, back from interviewing instead of being in study hall.

This day... Goodness.

I had my inevitable breakdown in Interdisc this morning. I was in such a rush and in such a daze from last night's load of work that I forgot my Friday paper. :( I freaked out, then remembered that I had sent it to myself via e-mail. So, I got on Crousore's computer, and then I found out that Hotmail couldn't be accessed from it, and it didn't help that he joked with me that I was getting a zero and I didn't note his sarcasm. So I sat there, crying while the class read an article.

It was all straightened out, but now I am just so... emotionally gone.

"Bali Hai"

I just got lectured on high school burnout by my mother. She practically yelled at me to stop doing all the activities I'm doing now and to get out, go shopping, and socialize.

Me, socialize? HA!

I have to admit, though, I'm exhausted, and it's not even been two weeks yet. And let's just say that this weekend, I won't get much sleep. It's the first Key Club district board meeting, and it lasts from 6:45 tomorrow night until Sunday. So much for studying for Interdisc and Physics...

Jane and Ali, when you come visit LN, you guys HAVE to shadow some of my classes! I need the extra mood booster of hanging out with you guys! I miss being able to talk to you in person about all the drama in my life. :P (Really, lack thereof.)

Anguis in herba.

Nate and I broke up.
That's all I am going to say to that right now. I really want to be left alone a bit.
Anyways, on to happier subjects....
I have a wonderfuul servvice project coming up. My dad wrote to the psychology professor at Purdue whom he knows and I GET TO WORK WITH EEG'S!!!!!!!!!!! That makes me soooooooooo happy! It's an awesome experince and I am sooooo lucky! Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!! It seriously is the only thing keeping me sane right now. I'm really really really really really really really really really really really reallly looking forward to it! :-D

"Raw Pastures"

Life is drama. Too much, in fact, especially if you're like me and spend most of your life absorbing others' feelings in order to truly "sympathize."

Ash, I have just two things to say: 1) I am very proud of the both of you. 2) I'm always here for you, even if I'm doing homework. (Chances are, I'm needing a distraction anyway.)

I'll let her explain.

Being part of everyone's troubles and joys has gotten me thinking, but I'll post a more detailed explanation on amarismoon one of these days.

It's time for Vivaldi.

"If You're Gonna Fly Away..."

Ouch. Pain. I just got bottom braces on during R7 today. :( The good news is that, with my wonderful overbite, no one could tell until I told them! :P

I received a YesAsia package a couple of days ago. (MORE AYU = HAPPY SARAH! YAY!)

OOOH! I may actually be going on the Interdisc trip with everyone else INSTEAD of Italy! (We'll see...)

Ars longa, vita brevis.

Well, first off, becuase I am too lazy to count points, everyone wins! Yeah, I'll bring cookies to some gathering where you all are. Sound good? And don't worry, Evie, I'll give you cookies next time I see you! :-D
Well, I feel as if a truck hit me! I'm sick, I think. But, because there's no way I can miss school and keep up with my work, I will be attending school this whole week, hopefully.
Something I learned this week: I hate driving downtown. I got lost coming home too.
Now, if anyone needs me, I'll be upstairs curled up in my bed with a book. Hopefully. Maybe. I don't knkow. Argh. Yeah.
Oh, and Sarah, Ali, or Jane: Do you remember French verbs? I've forgotten a few that I need to know........lol. I'll post a list soon!!! (PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!)

"Be the One"

I just realized that I've strayed from my normal title scheme for quite a while. But now it's back! :)

Since yesterday was the second-to-last day of the state fair, I dragged Ashley Porter along with me to keep me company and make the trip more...spontaneous, as we all know she can. For those who know her, this will all seem very typical; for those who don't, well, you need to meet her just to say you have. :P

Highlights:
- Porter living up to her "Crazy Ash' name while rushing to get ready (had she slowed down a bit, we wouldn't have had to practically clean up the kitchen before leaving)
- getting on the train/shuttle thingy and Porter singing along to Usher with the 15-ish African Americans on there with us
- me actually recalling some of the songs (which is sooooo sad - I'm not into that type of music)
- meeting Porter's friends (I have reason to believe now that Porter personally knows a fair majority of the world. I only saw one person I knew, and that was Gary Stephenson, and he smiled and waved. Apparently, people on newspaper staff DO know me.)
- us getting stared at by many of the guys (I credit most - if not all - of them to Porter, since she looks 18 and I looked... well, not 18.)
- me loving the deep-fried Oreos!
- searching the entire length of the fair for a filled hand sanitizer machine to prevent Porter from dying from E. Coli
- seeing a booth selling jewelry with two astrological necklaces (one Cancer, one Sagittarius) and buying them because we thought it was a sign
- Porter winning first place for the Artist in Residence (or whatever you call it) drawing of a llama she did, as well as winning third place for her pear drawing
- Porter's numerous phone calls from friends (such as this one w/ some guy friend of hers: "Hello?" "Hey, Ash, where are you?" "I'm at the State Fair. Where are you?" "I'm here, too." "Where are you at, then?" "By the shake-up stand." "Do you have any idea how many lemon stands there are?" "I'm at the one with all the chairs." "Wow...That helps.")
- both of us getting hit on several times by both people walking and those manning the games ("Hey, gals, even if you don't win, I'll give you a prize anyway, just for being so hot.")
- riding the Bumblebee kiddy ride and realizing that our bumblebee was defective - it had only one antenna - and coming to the conclusion that the white gals WOULD get the "ghetto bee." We laughed hysterically the entire ride, and Dad got some good pics of us on the digicam.

We came home around 12:30, and yet I wasn't as exhasuted as I thought... That's what happens when you're with Porter! I'll post up some of the pics on amarismoon.com later this week, once I get my computer repaired.

"Bring on the men and let the fun begin..."

I love that song. I only know one line, and it keeps repeating itself in my head. :P It's the new "Steam Heat" for me.

YOU GUYS WERE ALL AWESOME TONIGHT! I was impressed, but not quite as much as Linda, since she hadn't seen any of you perform before. I would've bought flowers for you all, but I'm broke, and have been for about a week. (I'm still adjusting to that fact. It's been awhile since I last spent my saved-up money.)

And Marten, I miss your hair, too. :(

"Can I sleep yet?"

Three days, and I'm already exhausted. Here's the low-down on my red day classes for Jane and Ali, since they're just dying to know. (I'm sure...)

Yesterday = good. I have a feeling my red days will be much less stressful than my green days, and this is why.

R5 - Interdisc. (I STILL love this class! It is amazing! :P)
R6 - North Star. (Can you say, FOOD and FUN TIMES? Yes, there is work involved, but when it involves the North Star staff, it's always a blast! I also met some of the sophomores and introduced myself, which will make editing for this upcoming issue more efficient, hopefully.)
R7 - Chamber Orchestra. We received our first piece of the year, and being a first violin this year, I expected it to be more difficult. Ah, well. There's nothing wrong with that! Besides, I will be practicing 3 hours' worth- yes, THREE HOURS' WORTH - of music for the Italy trip. Starting the 14th, we'll be going over to LC to practice from 7-8:30 p.m. every second Tuesday of the month, up until May.
R8 - Physics. At first I was worried about this class, but I have a feeling I won't hate it quite as much as precal. Yes, it'll be rigorous, but that's the least of my problems. (And it's my first class with Catie in YEARS!)

I got an elevator key to use to get up and down from Physics, and when I was walking with William (Ehlhardt) after Physics yesterday, I turned around to open the door and he asked, "Can I come with you?" before popping in it with me. Good thing he did - I'm such an idiot. I couldn't figure out how to use the key, even with Olivia's assistance. :P So we got out right in the middle of all the main hall traffic, and these guys came up to us and asked, "Why do YOU get to use the elevator?" I realized that I still LOOK perfectly healthy, and William said, "I don't know. Ask her."

Classic. :)

I'm off to get my hair cut! (No, nothing drastic. Just relayering it. I'm not planning to do a whole, "LOOK! I cut practically a foot of my hair on some random Wednesday" thing like I did in middle school. Remember, Jane and Ali, when I came into French with short hair, and Jane yelled out, "SARAH! What did you do to your hair?" Haha... No, don't expect that anytime soon. I'm saving my hair for senior year, when I'll chop it all of again. :P) Good day!

Ars gratia artis

Hello! Well, the first days are over....I'll give a rundown of all my classes.
CAS: Yes, this is a class. It's basically a study hall, but it's also going to serve to give us extra IB lessons. Meaning, the teachers are going to come in every once in a while and teach us more than the other classes need. Woohoo....
AP Psy.: I swear that Cuellar is trying to KILL us with work. IB has more essays and experiments to do. ah well. The class sounds like great fun anyways. I am really looking forward to it, although not so much to all that work.
Physics: Eh. It sounds better than chemistry, but I am still a bit worried about all the math involved......McKinley sounds like a great teacher though!!
AP English: Sounds like we're actually going to do something this year! wOOt!! :-D (Although I probably won't say this when I have so much work that I feel like I am drowning! lol)
Honors PreCal: Why me? Why me? WHY ME??? Why this class!?? Argh. Sarah, I shant be of any help. I myself am going to fail......(no matter what you say, Boggs)
TOK: Awesome class. Awesome people. So much fun shall be had. I am sure, right Olivia?
Latin: I am really hoping to do something this year. I want this to be a challenging class, but I don't think that it will. Ah well.
French: Awesome. Just awesome. (Would be even better if BOTH William and Evan were in my class, but I'll settle for just Evan.)
Lunches: A and C. I hate them. I know no one. I sit with Sarah (Evan's sister, not Amaris) on Green Days and Amanda on Red Days. (Not bad people mind you, but I'd rather Sarah Moreland or Nate, or Evan, or Jonah, you know? Ah well. )
C'est la vie!

And So It Begins...

Well, today was...interesting.

Jane, you would have been in Interdisc with me, and Ali was supposed to be in my precal class! There aren't enough sad smilies I could make to express how depressing that is... :( (By the way, Jane, Crousore pronounced your last name "Dong".)

First off, Interdisc is most likely going to be my favorite class, even though it focuses on debates - something you all know all too well how much I hate - but it's such an energetic class that I know I'll have a good time in there anyway. Jane, you have no idea how much you're missing with this class. (I think I hooked ya on the word "debate," didn't I? HA!) Sixty students in one class does seem a bit strange to me, though...

Etymology is going to be a complete change to Interdisc. Everitt's a bit more low-key and believes in the power of workbooks. (It's tedious work. It took me about an hour to finish my assignment for Wednesday.) I'm in there with Kelly Roeder and a bunch of - what seems to me to be- slackers. Woohoo...

Then comes study hall. It's not the highlight of my day. I WANT SRT BACK! I'm stuck in Palacios' room with Debiasse (who IS really cool, Olivia, but it doesn't make up for not being the N* SRT) with only one person I actually would want to talk to, and that's Tim. Go figure. (I blame Kaylan for switching to Hayes' class. HAHA!)

We have D lunch, which sounds worse than it really is because there are actual PEOPLE in there! I'm not stuck with just one person! There's Kaylan, Olivia, Jonah, Nathan, Clyde, and a bunch of other people I'm not going to name. Lunch arrangements = happy Sarah. Clyde left his lunch money in Ash's car, though, and so he borrowed some of mine. :P

And last is PreCal. I. Am. Going. To. Die. What was I thinking, getting myself into an honors math course? Argh... ASHWEE! HELP! ME NO LIKIE HONORS! (Of course, telling the class I am copy editor on staff and having Sean Huston say, "Yeah, she's my boss," sure livened up my day. :P)

For the ladies who wish to know: I wore my pink and green dress today. (Jane, you remember it, don't you?) My hair was curled, of course, and I wore (GASP!) flipflops. (JANE! I can't wear my new pink shoes for a month because of my biopsy! Darn those four-inch heels! I love 'em and I hate 'em!) The great thing happened during lunch, when some of the underclassmen pointed at me and said I looked like someone revived from the 80's. I was thrilled. Indeed, I was! I love making a lasting impression like that. Unfortunately, I'll be more toned-down tomorrow, but it's still a long skirt. And we know how "in" miniskirts are. Ugh. I hate those lil' khaki ones. Blech.

It doesn't feel like school's started. It feels so awkward without our two dear pals! I can only compare it to the feeling I've gotten during Christmas break for the past three years now, where the season just isn't the same. It holds less of a thrill, less of a "magical" purpose, so to speak, although I doubt I would use magical to describe many aspects of high school. I mean, there of course have been things happening with me this past year that makes celebrations seem dismal, but this is school. I would normally be more excited about it than I am. Ah, well. Enough of my thoughts.

There IS a world out there!

I"M BAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!!!

That doesn't necessarily mean I'm feeling much better, because I'm still physically exhausted and I'm incredibly stiff from being stuck on the futon for days. But I'm sooooo grateful for all you guys have done for me: Olivia's cookie bouquet (which I FINALLY started eating yesterday - it's too pretty!), Jane and Ali spending part of their weekend home from Indiana Academy to bake brownies with me and look over the yearbook (and Jane's WONDERFUL picture on the back cover - hehe...), Evan's chocolates and the long walk to Riley when I wasn't there - I appreciate it all the same! - and all of Ash's help and assistance in the hospital and out. I felt it was worth you sleeping on that hard chair all night, though you may not agree. :P

And so, I'm going to see how well I do tomorrow. I may have to cut out before the day's over, since 1) the morphine is so strong that what lingers in my body now makes it hard to breathe, 2) my heart's under too much stress already from the drugs the doctors gave me, so it's beating irregularly much more often, and 3) I may be too weak physically to walk to class. The good news is that I have study hall (with Debiasse - I miss N* SRT!) and lunch together, which gives me about 2 hours straight to just rest after Interdisc and Etymology. Then comes PreCal... Ugh.
Math on the first day. (thumbs down) At least I don't have physics until Wednesday! (Which means no stairs for Sarah yet!)

Olivia, when you get your schedule, let me know if there's a chance we can be "elevator buddies." :P

"Rain is just God's faucet."

Must all good things come to an end?

I think I was the first one to post once school got out for the summer, and now I will most likely be the last one to post before we go back tomorrow.

Now for a retelling of my last trip of the summer...family vacation! We drove two days to Canada, where we first spent a couple days with my uncles in Toronto. The first night we ate dinner at an Indian restaurant and explored some really pretty botanical gardens (at least, I'm assuming that's the correct term...). The next day we went to Casa Loma, which is a castle a guy built in the 1900's (and ended up bankrupt, so he never finished it...there's an empty swimming pool in the basement). Never will you guess what was found for dinner that night...a VEGETARIAN BUFFET RESTAURANT. I was in heaven. There was a huge record store across the street, and I found a French CD that I listened to at Habitat. It's a pop/rock band called Kyo, VERY cool. I'll let you guys listen to it sometime!

The next day we left my uncles and drove to Stratford, where we saw four plays over the next three days. Macbeth the first night, my brother and I got student rush tickets for Anything Goes the next afternoon, Guys & Dolls that night, and A Midsummer Night's Dream the final afternoon before we drove home. All of the shows were great in different ways. Macbeth was so dramatic, and the actress who played Lady Macbeth made my jaw drop. Anything Goes moved constantly and was filled with energy, and Moonface Martin was hysterical! Guys & Dolls didn't move as much as Anything Goes, but all of the numbers that I wanted to be show-stoppers definitely were! A Midsummer Night's Dream was modern and the fairy part was set in the rainforest, with people on trapezes. Visually stunning, and some of the actors were hilarious.

So, there's my vacation. Haven't done much since I got back except for summer reading, which I still need to finish. Oh well. Here's to a school year that's better than the last (hey, at least we're big bad upperclassmen now! hehe) . Everyone come to choir concerts this year! YEAH CHAMBER!!

Hope to see you tomorrow or Wednesday!

ps. Sarah, I'm glad you're feeling better! :-D

Carpe diem!

I AM BACK ONLINE!!!!!!! Boy, tech support does do wonders! lol. And credit where credit is due: THANK YOU MR. MORELAND!!!! :-D
So yeah. Looking forward to school. I really am. (I know. Geek. But as Monsieur teh Boggs would say, (and often does)," Cry me a river, build a bridge and get over it!")
I need to calculate points. I'll get around to that in a little. Most likely sometime this week after school. :-D
So, let's see...Evan came over today. We baked a big cookie named Jim the one eyed cookie, although he had both eyes until I cut them off.... .-) Otherwise we just sat around and talked. (Which is what we normally do) And then, I drove him home, cookie in hand.
So yeah. I'm out. Illl post Tuesday!

J'aime bien les couchers de soleil.

When one is sad, one should watch the sun set, although I have yet to follow this advice. Okay! Schedule time! :-D First, mine, because I have to remember it....
Green Days:
CAS with Frankum
Psychology with Cuellar (sp?)
Physics with McKinley :-D
AP English with Redman
Red days:
Honors PreCal with Spilker
TOK with Meier (sp?) (I think Evan said he was in this class with me...)
Latin III with Wright (I found out today that Zach Koch is in my class again)
French IV with Hilgermiger (sp?) (I know that Evan's in this class with me.)
So yeah. Sarah and I have no classes.... :-(
Here's Sarah's schedule:
Green Days:
Interdisc
Entmology with Everitt
Study Hall with Debiasse (Sarah said What the crap!?)
Honors PreCal with Spilker
Red Days:
Interdisc
Journalism
Orchestra
Physics with White
I think that they gave me the wrong English book. It's black and it's called "Selections from Lit." Otherwise, I have 9 books compared to Sarah's 5! lol.
My books for TOK are really cool though. I brought them home so I could look at them more in depth. There's a whole chapter on religion!!! :-D
Otherwise, things are quiet. Evan came by today to see Sarah. He stayed for a while and we sat around and amused ourselves. Much fun.
Sarah is doing much better and is out of Riley now. Currently she is downstairs probably wondering what is taking me sooooooo long up here.
Ah well. Yay for school starting!!! :-D

Star Wars III: Revenge of the Siths

this is the new title for star wars 3 if i remember correctly. i think i read an article on it online, but i can't wait till it comes out!!!
hey guys. hope you all are alright. no one sounds really all that happy right now, but i hope that you, ashley, are alright, and that you, sarah, are alright too. i do'nt really know what's happened with the surgery but i'm going to be assuming it went well since no one has posted much else news. you're in my dreams sarah:-d
today was the first day of classes at the academy. all the classes were pretty fun and i knew at least one person in most of my classes and in the ones that i didnt'...hopefully i'll make friends. if i don't, i'll live anywayz, cuz the classes are only an hour long. but still...enough for me to start falling asleep. the only bad thing about it is that there are only about an average of 15 people in each class so you get a lot of individual attention which means that if i fall asleep, there's a real good chance that they're going to know about it and that's not the kind of impressino that i wanna make on the first day of school. classes start at 9 and go on till about 5. i get an hour break somewhere in there, but i'm not going to bore you with all the details.
what is fun is that you get to hang out with friends practically 24/7 other than when we have to go to classes. but it's a lot of fun. so far, it seems like i've been playing poker with christian, sean, jane, tyler, and this new girl named alunee that i met at orientation. i finally learned how to play texas holdem and i have to say that i'm addicted now. i wonder if they have that game online. if you guys don't know how to play it, you should definitely learn. it's so fun playing with chips cuz no matter what it's not like you're losing your own money. here they don't have that stupid rules where you can't play cards and you can't gamble. we set up the game right in the middle of the lounge and the SLC's ( Student Life Counselors-mainly the people that are in charge of our well being) actually come join us and say hi and stuff so it's awesome.
also, jane and i took a run yesterday and we ran all that way to the bell tower from our dorm. it was about a 15 min run there...well actually, it'd probably be faster if we actually ran the whole way, but we're slowly gettin in shape. we passed the atrium where sarah had her journalism camp and we also passed the theatre and the library. hopefully, ball state will open soon cuz i'm missing the library and a pool. turns out that thyey do'nt have a swim team here that we could join so i've decided to just go to the pool a lot and be really strict on myself.
tomorrow, i don't have my first class till 2:30!!!! i've got tons of time to sleep in!!! YAY!!! i'm so happy!!! well, i've got loads of hmwk even though it's only been one day. hope you guys are all doing well in indy.

Alter ipse amicus

Hi everyone. I'm at Sarah's and am waiting on her mother to get out of the shower and we're going to go back to Riley, and I'm spending the night there. The doctors didn't want to release her today. So yeah, a worried Ashley.
Evan came by last night to see me and we sat and talked for a while.
Today Evan figured that it wasn't good for me to sit around upset by myself, so he, his sister Sarah, William, and I went to a couple of book stores. It took my mind off a couple of things. I had fun. (Even though William thought that I was "gloomy.")

Veni, Vidi, Vici

:-( L'infirmiere l'a blessee. :-( (Elle avait besoin de "IV"- je ne sais pas le mot francais, et cet ordineteur est le moins vite.....)
Alors, Souhaitez Sarah "BONNE CHANCE! Nous t'aimons beaucoup et beaucoup!!!!!!!"

"Rain is just God's faucet..."

Ouch!

At Riley. Trying to type with both hands, even though I have a castlike thing over my left hand for the IV. I'm sitting in the Riley library and resource center, trying to entertain myself for the next hour, which is when I go in for the surgery.

I'm in pain, although the nurse said that the surgery will be less painful than getting the IV. (Heck, did that hurt!) They changed plans on me again, though - I'm only going to be sedated, not completely unconscious, and I'll get several numbing needles in the back that will sting like crazy for a couple of seconds. (I wasn't expecting that...) Then I will actually feel them taking pieces of my kidney out, which is supposed to be an uncomfortable feeling "like no other."

Crap. Not looking forward to it.

And that will happen in less than 45 minutes from now. I'm a bit worried, but there's an advantage to this plan: I can eat dinner later tonight. :P

Ash is here. She's posting, too. Read hers. :)

Alter ego.

Argh. I'm upset. More so than when I last wrote. I'm at Sarah's today, spending time with her. That at least is not upsetting.
I'm just feeling avoided, and it's not a nice feeling and it makes me feel lonely. Lonlier than I already feel. Sorry this is a bit depressing, although you do have the choice not to read it.
So yeah. I think only Sarah really understands what I mean. (Although Evan also knows what's bothering me, but I don't think he reads this.)
But yeah, let me get to happier subjects...
On Wednesday I went to go see Evan. He called me earlier that day and asked me to come over to get something that he got for me in Minnesota. He got me something that is awesome and is very...me. He found a three cd box set of Edith Piaf, a French singer from the forties (? I'm not quite sure of the year...) She sang "La vie en rose" and a bunch of other stuff that I don't think that any of you will know, unless you like older French music. But it is awesome. I stayed over at his house for a while and we listened to music, talked, and played with his dog, Bren. :-D It was nice, and it made me happy.
After that I went to Sarah's house, and we went to the VBS thing, which again was fun. We played with the magnets that make words. :-D You know we had to have fun doing that! lol.
Thursday was our party for Jane and Alison, which made me happy. They had fun I think. Olivia wrote a long post on it, so you can read that, and ergo it's less for me to type. We played Taboo though. Sarah and I had that ESP going and many times she stole my thoughts! lol. Alison thought that I played the clarinet, and then used it as a clue for Olivia. It was fun, and we need to do that again. It took my mind off my troubles and ergo was a good thing.
The next morning I got up at like 7h30 and got donuts for us. Then Olivia and I watched ER until 11 when Sarah woke up. Olivia left at noon, and then around 2, Evan came over. He couldn't stay long b/c his sister needed the care, so when he drove home, I followed him, and then brought him back. Sarah left around 4, and Evan left at 5h30, when his dad came to get him for a movie.
Yesterday, I found out that my computer's broken, so I went to Sarah's house and I stayed there for a while. I even brought Cha cha over. That was fun, and all the dogs got along well. We went shopping at Target, and I bought a skirt. (And it's very nice. Short,, but not too short. ANd plaid! :-D Olive green. )
Then I went to church this morning and directly from church I came to Sarah's. Well, this was longer than I thought it was going to be, Before I end:
Jane and Ali: It'll get better and you'll both have sooooooooo much fun! I'm sure!!!! You're in our thoughts and we miss you!!!!!!!
Sarah: It's going to be alright. I'll be there with you tomorrow, and you're in my prayers. :-)
My last quote: From the bottom of the heart ( I think)
Ah well...I'm going to go read my summer reading now. Oh, and if you think that you're the person who I need to talk to, why don't you talk to me, okay? Thanks.

Girls Night - Part II

Credit goes to Olivia for her thorough entry. YEAH! Less for me to type!

It was a blast! We all headed to Ash's around noon, where we had rice for lunch (courtesy of Ash herself), along with chips, Coke, and fudge cookies.

Of course, Jane and Ali kept trying to feed cute lil' ChaCha under the table. (I don't think Zataran's would have worked with her stomach.) I set the table (as seen in the picture above) with special "sparkly" plates, color-coded drink glasses, and - my personal surprise - masks for everyone! (clockwise from top left - mine [the red one], Ash's, Jane's, and Ali's [on the bottom left])

Jane and Ali looked so cute in theirs!

Olivia and THE Fanta!

I gave Jane and Ali a gift basket I had prepared for their dorm, filled with snacks, a sign saying "No Swimming Suits After Dark" for their door, notebooks (Ali's said "All about me," Jane's said "Estrogen bomb"), frames (for our pictures - HAHA), a plaque saying "the distance between friends is never too far," and one of those duck cards that says "You're leaving? Waddle I do without you? I'll be thad."

Afterwards, we all went into Ash's formal music room to play some tunes. Jane and I shared the "melody harp," Olivia looked at some of Ash's sheet music, and Ash, Jane and Ali played some tunes on the keyboard.

Mom called once she pulled up into the driveway to take us to the movie. Jane picked up the phone, and this was all that we could hear of their conversation: "Allo! Allo? Allo... (here's where Jane goes into her "stereotypical Asian accent") Who dis? (pause) No. No hamburger. You want fried noodle? (pause, then Jane pretends to get angry) Fine! No noodle for you!" (hangs up)

I think we should all just take a break here and laugh our heads off. (Jane, you are SOOO doing that in front of Ash's video camera! I want that on tape!)

Then Jane had to go home, sadly, and we went to the movies. Then we went to the mall, which was hilarious. (At least it was to me, especially going into Saks! I love pretending to be posh!) Then we did all the stuff Olivia already mentioned. (Blah, blah, blah...) Then after Olivia left, I spent an hour eating lunch and watching country music videos while Ash read. And then our boredom was gone once Evan arrived! (Haha... I learned some swing dancing moves!)

JANE & ALI: I AM GOING TO MISS YOU GUYS! You'd better be on AIM as much as possible!

Girls' Night!

First, a (lengthy) summary of NYC.

Sunday -- got to the airport late, found out the computer system for the airline crashed. :-P Waited in line for another flight, finally left a couple hours later. Got lost in the airport in NYC. Eventually met up with my aunt. Went out to dinner in a restaurant that's literally built into a bridge.

Monday -- went to Rockefeller Center, Saks Fifth Avenue, Radio City Music Hall, and St. Patrick's Cathedral (note: spent a maximum of 20 minutes in each). Took an NBC tour, where they show you a couple studios and let you in on more than a couple production secrets. ;-) Had tea at the Plaza Hotel, which is beautiful and feels very fancy. Tried caviar (!) Left my aunt for awhile so I could meet a friend who's a musician for dinner. We split a pizza and then went to his apartment, where I sang for him and he played a few of his songs for me. Super, super nice. :o) Took a drive with my aunt around the city to see some sites at night.

Tuesday -- took a carriage ride around Central Park, did a little more window-shopping (looked at engagement rings at Tiffany's, hehe), and went to the Guggenheim (art museum, built like a big spiral). VERY cool photography exhibit and not-so-cool abstract/minimalist sculptures. Went to see RENT on Broadway. I've seen it on tour but just had to see it on Broadway as well. Mel B from the Spice Girls played one of the main roles; she was actually good! Show was incredible, some things were better than the tour and some things were worse, but it was everything Broadway should be.

Wednesday -- took a drive to some different parts of the city (East Village, SoHo, etc.) before going to the airport and getting on my flight in the nick of time. Sat on the runway for about 45 minutes because of storms, but the rest of the flight was uneventful. Exhausted when I got home, but stayed online long enough to hear about...

PARTY!

So, I got to hang out with my Aching Sushi girls for about 24 hours, starting yesterday at noon. Jane had to go home after lunch (and after being presented with gifts for her and Ali's room at the Academy), but the rest of us went to see Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle. I thought it looked really strange in the previews, and I was right. haha But it did have some funny parts. Ali went home after the movie, and Sarah, Ashley, and I went to The Fashion Mall. Everything was too expensive to buy, except our meal in the food court, including dessert (of course). :o) Ali met us back at Ashley's house, where we played Taboo (SO fun) and then when Ali left again, we listened to music and read each other questions out of a book that's used to get to know each other, but in a very personal way. We finally went to bed around 2 or 3, but I couldn't fall asleep until 4. :-P Woke up around 9 and ate donuts and watched TV with Ashley until Sarah woke up. Then I went home around noon.

Now I'm getting ready to go on ANOTHER trip, family vacation this time. We're going to Canada to see some plays and visit relatives. I'll be back next Saturday, just in time for *gulp* school. But let's not think about that for now...though I do have a lot of summer reading to finish!

KEEP IN TOUCH ALI & JANE! I'll miss you! Sarah & Ashley, I'll see you at school (at least, I'm assuming I'll have classes with you!).

Ab imo pectore.

Well, I figured that I should post, although I'm not in a great mood, and I spent some of tonight crying...
Argh, I can't wait to get back to school. Seriously people. You all might hate it, but I like it. This has not been the best summer, and I want to put it behind me a.s.a.p. Seriously, not a happy Ashley tonight. :-( I'll get over it. There's some people I need to talk to though, and after that I should feel better.
But yeah.
Highlight of my summer so far I went to see the air show. I love it every year, but this year it was sooooo great. It was beautiful weather and I got to see the P 51 mustangs fly. yay! I am so going to fly one day. Seriously. It's my dream, and it has been since like 5th grade. Betcha didn't know that, right? I'm also going to join the air force. More on this when I feel like writing.

"Sailing"

Supposedly, I had an ortho appointment today. WHOOPS! Ah, well, it's not like I was ready to get bottom braces on, anyhow. Ugh... If I get in sometime this week, I'll have painful teeth as I go in for my biopsy on Monday. Argh...

I'll give everyone three guesses as to what I did do today. :P Let's just say it involved Ash, Kohl's, Dad's credit card, three new pairs of jeans, and two new shirts. (I didn't even chance glancing at the shoes.)

WOOHOO! PARTY TIME! Here's the lowdown on Thursday:
- Ash's house at noon until Friday morning
- If you need a ride, tell me, because I'll gladly pick anyone up. There may be a slim chance that my ortho appointment will be rescheduled, but even so I can still pick people up sometime that day.
- BRING MUSIC! (Try to gather up all your CD's from middle school. We're trying to remember the good times while creating some new ones, people! I'm bringing N*SYNC, BSB, and O-Town - just their single - but bring all that you have since some of mine are cassettes and, thus, they suck.)
- As far as food goes: Ash is making pasta/garlic bread, Jane's in charge of another side, Ali's bringing drinks, and I've got cups/plates and dessert. (Hehe...) Ali's also bringing popcorn and chick flicks.
- Bring some money with you. We're possibly going to go to the movies to see that one movie with the two guys going to White Castle. (I know that I could look it up, but I'm too lazy. Sorry. You all know what I'm talking about.) We also are planning to go to the Circle Centre mall, so even if you don't buy anything while shopping, bring some cash for if we eat dinner downtown in the food court.
- Bring board games/picture albums/cameras for when we're back at Ash's.
- If you have anything else party-ish (disco balls, anyone? :P), bring it.

Questions? Call me.

Strawberries and Bananas... Er, Pineapples!

I had an interesting two-hour phone chat with Jane today. The entire two hours centered around Jane wondering whether or not to make a smoothie. Here's just a paraphrased snippet of our conversation, about an hour after she started contemplating the idea of smoothie-making:

(Jane = blue, me = pink)

“I’ve decided to make a smoothie.”
“How long did that take you to decide?”
“An hour or two.”
“JANE! That’s why you just look in the fridge, find chocolate cake, and take it out and eat it. No preparation, no having to choose.”
“Are you eating cake now?”
“Mmmm…”
“Sarah! You pig!”
“Hee…”
(in Jane’s baby voice): “Okay. Let’s get the stuff out…” CRASH!
“JANE! What happened?”
“Well, the thingy that I wanted was in this other thingy, and I couldn’t get it.”
*sigh*
“So, we get the strawberries out, and we find the ones that are ripe. OOH! This one’s pretty! And then there’s this one, and another one, and… EEEEW! This one looks funny!”
“For someone who just said she hated judging by appearances…” (a previous conversation reference)
“This one’s going away.”
“What, on its own?”
“Yes, Sarah, it’s walking out the door and out of our lives FOREVER! (pause) It’s time for the little strawberries and pineapples to have a nice, big union in the blender.”
“Union? Jane, that’s sick!”
“I was talking about a family reunion! What were you thinking?”
“Let’s not go there, Jane.”
“SARAH! Mind in the gutter, as always!”
“HEY!”
(pause)
“What do you want?”
“Huh?”
“You’re still talking to me. You must want something from me, just like everyone else.”
“Jane, it’s wise not to ask someone with their mind in the gutter what they want.”
“Oopsies. Well, I know you want a smoothie.”
“No, I don’t. I don’t like smoothies. Heck, I don't even like fruit!”
(GASP!) "You’re insulting my smoothies! I thought you were my best friend! Look! The strawberry is hurt! It’s crying! In the corner!”
“Poor thing... How in the world does a strawberry cry?”
“I put it under the faucet. When I wash it, it’s wet from its tears.”
“…Or the faucet.”
“Tears!”
“Faucet!”
“Your arguing is making the pineapples mad!”
“Ooh… I’m threatened.”
“They don’t like you, you…butt!”
“Wait. I was already a butt. [another reference to previous conversation] Does that make me a double-butt?”
“Yes. Wait! No. You don’t have a really big butt, so you’re a… an itty-bitty butt!”

Just thought it was funny and would at least explain the new endquote. Good night.

"Good Time"

It happened again.

I went into the grocery store after church and was talking to the 20-something woman behind the counter about California and scouting out colleges when she replied, "Isn't it a bit early for an 11-year-old to be searching for colleges?"

Grrr...

Anyway, I posted a very short summary of Ball State on amarismoon.com. I couldn't possibly go into details about the week - there's too much to remember, and my favorite moments wouldn't mean much to anyone who wasn't there. It was a blast, and that's all you need to know. :)

I fell asleep after church this morning and was woken up at five till five by Dad, saying that we were going to the 5:10 showing of "Anchorman." Thanks for the notice... The movie was a great booster for my mood. :P I needed a comedy. Afterwards, we went down to Broad Ripple to eat dinner and window-shop (since all the stores were closed). Darn... I couldn't buy anything. :( (Maybe it's all for the better.)

And here's something for the record books: I'm planning on buying sweatpants sometime this week. (Yes, you can gasp now, especially Jane and Ash.) I'm going to Kohl's soon, and when I buy school clothes, I'm going to get one or two pairs. (I prefer pink ones, personally. :P)

I discussed with Ali a "girls day out" sometime this week, since Ali and Jane will be moving into their dorms on the 7th. :( We need to have a day just full of "girly stuff," you know: salon treatments, shopping, guy-watching (for Ali's benefit - haha), just hangin' out in someone's house, dancing to all the songs we listened to in middle school. (And you know who'll be there with the digicam!)

You girls up for it?

"Shall we go to bed?"
