Oh, my aching sushi!!!

All right, so summer's over and there are fewer pretty girls in tank tops. But still, if you think about it, we're still better. We are utterly beautiful, talented, intelligent, and amazing girls who don't need to show off skin to feel worthy. Too bad we're too good for you.

Happy Halloween!

This orange is a little hard to read, but I figured I should try to use Halloween colors. Hope everyone had a good holiday, though I suppose we're a little too old to go trick-or-treating for ourselves anymore. Darn, no more free candy. ;-) Even more unfortunate, we completely ran out of candy for trick-or-treaters at my house, which means no leftovers. Tragic.

In other words, the famed crashing of Ashley's house (aka party that started while Ashley was not home) was a success. I finally put my ice cream hat to good use (in costume form). We spent the majority of time just sitting around and talking, though we halfway paid attention to two movies. It was entertaining, though! :o) Especially when Ashley, Jane, Evan, and I went to Kroger to get drinks...in our costumes. I'm surprised more people didn't stare at us, haha.

Let's see...the rest of my fall break was great! I visited Washington University in St. Louis, which I absolutely loved. I could definitely see myself going there. I just have to work extra hard now so I can get in...especially on the SAT. Darn SAT. At least you can take it multiple times.

Saturday morning was the IU Honors Test. I didn't think it was all that hard, though I didn't finish the reading portion (I don't think a lot of people did). The stories were, er, entertaining? One was about a guy whose wife brought home an injured tiger cub and let it sleep in bed, so he got jealous. Another described all these foods that are supposed to be healthy, but are actually terrible for you, and then recommended drinking whiskey, gin, and tonic. haha The test was followed by a rather lengthy presentation about the program, mostly past participants telling their stories. I think I'm going to apply -- it would be so cool to come back and be functionally fluent! I'm torn about missing my youth group's Habitat trip this summer, though.

I suppose that's all the news from me for now, at least the latest.

SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bonjour tout le monde!!!!! I have returned today. And only today. Well, okay yesterday too, but I didn't get around to blogging. I'm at my dad's house. SO yeah. Let's see, this weekend:
Wednesday evening: Went to youth group. Then I headed over to William's for a little bit. We watched the Blues Brothers. Then, i went home and to bed.
Thursday: Got up early and brought Chels and Chris to Lafayette. Dad and I brought my car to be fixed, and he had me meet his girlfriend. Won't go into any of that right now. This house brings back so many memories. Some really good ones. Some really bad ones. Kinda depressing.
Today: We have to go get my car from the Car-X and then Chels and I are going home. Sar and I are cleaning this afternoon! Woohoo! So is Chel! Woohoo for slave labor! *ahem* I mean, sibling....love?
Saturday: I have the IU honors test at 9 am, and then woodwind ensemble at 2. Sar's party at 3, right?
Sunday: Nothing really planned until early evening, and then I'm taking Thing I and Thing II out for trick or treating.
Well, my computer should be up and running soon. *crosses fingers*
I'll talk to you later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Exodus '04"

It's my turn to post, I take it. Ash's computer still isn't up and running, and no one else has the time. (Not that I do, running on 4 hours of sleep last night.)

By the way, REMEMBER: The PARTY is on Saturday at 3. (Ash, I have Friday night booked up, so I'll have to come sometime in the afternoon. Is that okay?)
Rules:
* You have to wear a costume! If you don't, I can't let you in.
* No kegs, Michael. Sorry. :P
* Bring music if you can! My tastes are definitely not your tastes, so come prepared to take control of the stereo!
* No toilet-papering Ash's house, okay? I know it's tempting, but be nice to the pseudo-host.

They're my rules. Deal with them.

P.S. If you can come, let me know as soon as possible. Ash and I should know who all are coming. No surprises now!

Bubble Boy

how come no one is writing? it's been more than a week? there's gotta be somethign interesting happening in your lives? it's fall break and halloween coming up!! anyone doing anything? i wanna go trick or treatin cuz this is the last year where i won't feel bad for taking candy. i still consider being 16 being a kid while 17 is pushing it. anyone planning to trick or treat? i still have to think up of a costume.

right now i'm taking a self defence class at bsu. it's taught by the muncie police and they tell you what to do when you're put in a "situation". it's kinda neat cuz i've learned how to kick a guy in the dick 3 different ways. watch out guys:-p lol. it's probably not going to happen in real life cuz i'm too much of a wimp to do that to some poor guy that can't get any. i mean...that's just totally degrading. it's all they have!!! but it's useful to know. this thursday, one of the guys will actually be wearing a suit and he's supposed to be our attacker. i'm so scared cuz when i went into the class, i thought he was just going to be standing there and we could just take a shot at him and do w/e, but now, he's an actual moving target that's gonna try to kill us. the scariest thing is that they turned off the lights the other day just to see how the room would look and it is really freakin' dark. is there gonna be full moon any time soon??? pray for me.

that's pretty much that's gone on here lately. o, and i actually went shopping!!! i haven't done that in like 2 months. it's a miracle. you guys should all go to kohls cuz they're having a big sale right now. although my mom says that the one before thanksgiving is going to be even bigger if you wanna wait. anywayz, you guys all need to write!!! this is sorta ironic consider you're the ones that are always telling me that i need to write.

If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you

Yay for Winnie the Pooh!
So yeah, I haven't posted in a while because of the stupid computer. I'm at Sarah's posting, imagine that right? Ah well
I am so happy that we had two half days in a row. It makes me happy. Very happy. Thursday I spent sleeping and then yesterday I spent the day with William and Evan at Evan's house. It was a lot of fun! :-D
This morning I went to woodwind ensemble. We're playing two of my favorite Christmas Carols: Noel Nouvelet and Il est ne, le Divin Enfant. That makes me very happy. WE might be playing at the Indiana State Museuem the 12th. (We might be playing the 11th, but I believe that I have a speech meet that day.)
So come see us! We're great! And we only get a little lost! Woohoo!

Okay, I am going to shamelessly plug my Small Group fundraiser now:
RUMMAGE SALE! November 6th, from 8 am until 2 pm. PLEASE! If you can come, please come! We're adopting a family and we're trying to raise money. I won't be there though, because I'm going to the speech meet.
IF you have donations, you can drop them off on November 5th, from 5:30 until 8 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Oh, I should probably tell you which church: Faith Presbyterian on Hague Road, right down the street from LN. if you're facing LN from the front on Hague, you go right and we're on the corner of 82nd and Hague. Yay!
Much fun!
Well, that's all for now!

The Goldfish Theme Song!

Took the PSAT/NMSQT thingy this morning. I came prepared: boiled eggs, Goldfish, cornbread, water, and a Hershey bar. What I forgot was my calculator. :P It reminds me of Ball State this summer, when I managed to bring everything except an umbrella (and it rained, of course) and a bunch of other things that could have come in handy.

Olivia and I got a 95% on our Interdisc essay. We missed points because we accidentally said that the executive branch was weakened, when in fact there was no executive branch at that time. WHOOPS! Oh, well. It's still an A.

I'm going shopping tonight for a Halloween costume. Kaylan and I (and possibly a few others on staff) are planning to dress up for Thursday night's session at Franklin College. :P And we get to skip Friday. (It's a half day, though....But I'm happy! And Evan, Ash, and William, we have to do something sometime when I can go. I've got Thursday and Friday afternoon completely booked. What about Saturday? We can get together then! Surely we'll be able to think of something incredibly fun to do! And Evan - JOIN OMAS!)

Can you say HALLOWEEN PART-AY?? Yes, teh Amaris is hosting one! :P I've always wanted to have my own Halloween party, but my house has no central area for anyone to do more than sit. So, to resolve this problem, I'm having it at Ash's, under the condition that I clean and decorate it myself. (Which I will. You KNOW I will. Cleaning and shopping for decorations = my life!) I'm not sure what we'll be doing, or what exact time it'll be, but keep the 30th open. Okay? Don't go vacationing in Cancun. (Lucky Catie!) And YES, you HAVE to wear a costume. If you don't, I can't let you in to the food. :P That's enough incentive for me right there. And sorry to disappoint you Evan, but I didn't buy the Club Transylvania prostitute costume. (Oh, darn!) As much as I wanted to look like a devilish pimp, the pants didn't fit. ;)

Here comes #201! :P

Now that the celebration post is done, I can give a better account of Homecoming. (I'd do this on AM.com, but my server's down for a bit.)

Homecoming was MUCH better this year, even with some freshman wearing the same dress as me. :( I walked with Ash into the gym and was shocked at how romantic it was. There was a FOUNTAIN in the middle of the dance floor. (HELLO?!?! Why didn't we have the parents decorate it sooner??) The fountain was surrounded by four lampposts (which was genius) and had four paths leading from it marked by makeshift "cobblestone" walkways. The walls were made to look like a city skyline (with strings of lights illuminating them), and there were several tables for four off to the side that reminded me of French cafes, with a single flower in the middle to finish it off. It was AMAZING!
And what's great is that I have PICS! YES! I'll upload those soon. Ash and I looked gorg-e-ous!!! :P We should have been, since we spent an unbelievable amount of time getting ready. (It was fun primping! And I did Ash's hair and makeup! :P) And that $20 I had from my last AM.com post is gone. I used it to pay for Ash and me to get professional pics taken! I'll be getting them in Interdisc in a couple of weeks! We get two 5"x7" and 8 wallets (4 each) to give out to people.
GET THIS: Ash dirty-danced. I couldn't believe it, either. :P

Happy Amaris says, "Good night!"

"Your imagination's stuck in your crack, honey."

Romance is dead - it was acquired in a hostile takeover by Hallmark and Disney, homogenized, and sold off piece by piece.

YAY! It's the 200th post of Sushi! And we (meaning Sarah and Ashley) are getting ready for Homecoming! We meant to post this before, but it's been a long hectic week and such.... and on top of that, Ashley's computer is broken. That makes us sad. RIP Ashley's Computer and Ashley's Computer #2.

*narrator voice* Previously on Oh, My Aching Sushi:
Saturday May 8, 2004: A blog was born. One of the most interesting and highly controversial blogs on the interweb. The founders? Three highly intellectual, fabulous, amazing, friendly, wonderful, and, of course, GORGEOUS (beyond all belief) young ladies by the names of Sarah, Ashley, and Jane. Need we say more? We could, ya know. These three young ladies were followed by their equally beautiful, but not as amazing, partners in crime, YouNa, Alison, and Olivia. Their very bootyliscious male counterpart has not yet joined. To him, this narrator says, Join! (Who wouldn't want to join these foxy ladies?)
May 18th, 2004: Ashley turned 16, and there was a fabulously planned party awaiting her.
May 28th, 2004: A mere 10 days after she turned 16, Ashley's Uncle Ray died.
May 29th, 2004: Ashley and her boyfriend celebrated their 6-month anniversary. Aw!
June 5th, 2004: Sarah left the group to venture off to California, not knowing if she'd ever return from the Land of Asians. The trip was long and complex, as is for any hitchhiker. But upon reaching her promised land, she found that all the rumors of shopping and celebrities were accurate.
June 13th, 2004: Sarah willingly returned home, for she felt guilty leaving her baby blog in the hands of her friends and enemies. *scary music*
June 15th, 2004: Jane celebrated her 16th birthday, without her wonderful, fabulous, and gorgeous OMAS crew by her side.
June 25, 2004: Sarah celebrated her 16th birthday, with her beautiful OMAS crew. Or partial OMAS crew. And Jonah. And Nathan. And Marten.
June 30th, 2004: Evan, who has yet to join these sexy women - and this narrator REALLY encourages him to - turned 18. Alas, Sarah also departed for St. Louis this fine day.
July 10th, 2004: A sneaky and wonderfully planned party for Sarah's 16th birthday was executed. Many a person attended, and fun was had by all. Jonah came.
August 5th, 2004: The OMAS crew tearfully sent off Jane and Alison. They have gone to a better place, or maybe not. Who's to say if Indiana Academy is better than LN?
August 9th, 2004: Sarah went under the knife....sorta. Her kidney broke and she needed to fix it with a horribly painful, tedious surgery that lasted hours and hours on end. Or not.
August 11th, 2004: Jane and Alison started at the Academy. This narrator is so proud. They grow up so quickly, don't they? *sniffle* Anyone have a Kleenex?
August 17th, 2004: Classes commenced at Lawrence North. Ugh.
August 24th, 2004: The long romance of Ashley and Nathan came to an end. Tearfully, they departed from one another. Someone will soon catch the eye of our fair maiden. Only when she tells him, he doesn't understand. She tells him Thursday, October 7th. She will soon beat him viciously over the head with an OBVIOUS stick, because Sarah has in fact given her permission. (So basically, if you remember her telling you that you know that she likes you, right? Watch out.)
September 10th, 2004: A long awaited romance blossomed between Sarah and Jonah. All this narrator has to say is AWWWWWWWW!!!!!!! SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And she thinks that she is not alone in what she says about the adorable couple.
October 1, 2004: The romance is taken to a new level when the psuedo boyfriend and girlfriend actually finally become such. AWWWW!!!!!!!!!! *sniffles* They're all growing up before my very eyes! Next will be college for the couple!!! Or marriage! Or babies! The little oiseaux d'amours…
October 7th, 2004: See August 24th.

That brings us up to Present Day. And the day of the stolen dress… bum-bum-buuuuummmmmmm!

*narrator voice returns* It all started weeks ago. Homecoming was coming. Sarah needed to find a dress. Not just any dress mind you- it had to be the dress. A perfect dress for a perfect evening. After much hard-core shopping, she found it. It was the perfect shape and fit beautifully. She looked like an angel….maybe a princess…it’s hard to tell. At least a fairy. Or a goddess, which was Jane’s opinion. Yes, a goddess. She was a goddess.
So the day of homecoming the fairy/princess/angel/goddess took forever and a half to get herself and her friend, La Belle Fille, ready for the beautiful ball. She felt wonderful. She knew that she was the most gorgeous one there in the most origi…then she saw her. There was a FRESHMAN wearing the same dress!
“Woe is me!” exclaimed she. “Many hours did I spend, looking, searching, seeking a dress, and now! Look! ‘Tis stolen by the blonde freshman! What ever shall I do?!” Her beautiful friend reassured her, saying, “But think about it! She doesn’t look as fair as you! And her shoes! Not nearly so lavish and excellently matched as yours!” She accepted these truths and had a wonderful time at the ball, although her prince charming did not show up. Fin.
